A new initiative aimed at supporting young and new dads across Hartlepool has officially launched, offering vital resources, guidance, and community for dads aged 25 and under. The North East Young Dads and Lads (NEYDL) Service is here to ensure that no young father feels alone on their parenting journey.
The service provides a safe, inclusive space where young dads can access:
- One-to-one mentoring and emotional support in person or online
- Parenting workshops and life skills training
- Activities for you and your child such as stay and play
- Help with employment, education, and housing
- Peer support groups and community events and meet ups, 5-A-side football, videogaming etc.
- Helping you with any challenges you are facing
“Too often, young fathers are overlooked in parenting conversations,” said Andrea, a senior NEYDL worker “We’re here to change that narrative—empowering young men to be confident, capable, and connected dads.”
The service is open to all young dads in Hartlepool, regardless of background or circumstance. Whether you’re expecting your first child or navigating fatherhood already, NEYDL is here to walk alongside you.
